Below are some details and a photo for each of the camp options.
For more information about Liberty Robotics please see our website: https://www.frc4131.org/
1. Lots O’ LEGO
Ages 5-8, $240 ($201.60 early bird), max 20 kids
Have fun building with an endless supply of LEGOs while learning about basic architecture! Work with others to design your own LEGO city using engineering principles to build bridges, stores, skyscrapers, schools, and more! Perfect for avid LEGO builders looking for a fun, social environment to sharpen their skills.
2. Launching Into LEGO Robotics
Ages 8-12, $300 ($252 early bird), max 20 kids
Learn about robotics through building and programming LEGO robots! Students will work with teams to have their robot complete challenges, all leading up to a competition at the end of camp. Suitable for students with any level of robotics experience!
3. Video Game Design with Scratch
Ages 8-12, $270 ($226.80 early bird), max 20 kids
Use Scratch to deepen your understanding of programming. Students will learn the key principles of coding through creating fun games while incorporating LEGO EV3 motors and sensors. Laptops will be provided, but students must create a Scratch account beforehand at https://scratch.mit.edu/join
4. Advanced Robotics Experience
Ages 10-13, $360 ($302.40 early bird), max 12 kids
Use REV robotics parts to gain a deep understanding of robotics through designing, building, wiring, and programming a robot in teams to complete challenges. A competition will be held at the end of camp for students to show off their creations. Have fun while learning crucial robotics skills from experienced high school mentors!
NOTE: No experience is needed! The camp is called "advanced" because it is suited for students that would like to engage with more challenging aspects of STEM.
5. 3D Printing & Robot Design
Ages 10-13, $300 ($252 early bird), max 20 kids
Get an introduction to Computer Aided Design (CAD) and learn how different robotic mechanisms are designed. Examine Liberty Robotics’ previous competition robots to see how a design can come to life! Students will design and 3D print their own creation to take home at the end of camp. Students must bring their own laptops from home (we have a set number of laptops we can lend to students that do not have one). Students will have to create an Onshape account prior to the start of camp at https://www.onshape.com/en/education/sign-up
